The game was created as part of the Selectel Retro Game Jam ’21. Our team took 2nd place.

According to the jam rules, each team was given a personal assignment. We had to implement a unique combination of three elements: a retro game, a style, and an emotion. We got:

  • Retro game: Pong

  • Style: Cartoon

  • Emotion: Indifference

Rules:

  • Play Pong;

  • Avoid obstacles;

  • Don’t pick up flyers (or pick them up… we don’t really care…);

  • In Pong, victory increases the “indifference” meter, defeat decreases it;

  • Picking up a flyer decreases indifference;

  • The game ends if the “indifference” meter is either completely empty or completely full.

Controls:

  • A / D (← / →) — move the player

  • ↑ / ↓ — move the paddle

  • Space — start moving, launch the ball in Pong
